Mary works for COTA Australia — the peak policy development, advocacy and representation organisation for older Australians. In her Policy and Engagement role, she is appreciatively aware of how older people’s generosity in sharing their knowledge and experiences gives voice and authority to COTA Australia’s policy endeavours in advocating for an equitable, just and inclusive society for all older Australians, their families and communities.

Prior to her current position, Mary worked for state government and several not-for-profit organisations. With her commitment to the core principles of social justice (access, equity, participation and human rights), employment areas have included education, aged care, health and disability. She has qualifications in philosophy, education, organisational change and public health policy.
