About Australian Communications and Media Authority

About us
ACMA is Australia's regulator for telecommunications, broadcasting, radiocommunications, unsolicited communications and certain online content. The ACMA’s purpose is to maximise the economic and social benefits of communications infrastructure, services and content for all Australia.

Research
Our research program provides evidence to inform our decision making. Recent reports which may be of interest to delegates can be found at:

Spectrum
Delegates may also find the ACMA’s spectrum allocation chart of interest. This chart provides a snapshot of the range of different spectrum uses.

Mobile phone repeaters
We have noted there appears to be a lot of interest in the community about purchasing and operating mobile phone repeaters to improve reception in homes and business. However unfortunately a lot of repeaters are not legal and have the potential to cause significant levels of interference. Check out our fact sheet about this  in the resources section below which can help consumers understand what they can and can’t do.

Phone scams
You can find our phone scam education resources in your digital delegate bag but they are also available here for your convenience.
